One for my girl!

>> Tuesday, May 14, 2013

We are already a couple of weeks in our 'One for the Girls' Challenge here at Mad for Markers and my card is for my daughter who is turning the big 10 on this coming Thursday.  This will be a sad but happy day...she will be into those double digits; not sure where the time with my baby has gone!

I should tell you that this card nearly didn't get finished, as during the process of making it I spilled a full cup of tea all over my craft desk and to some miracle the card was the only thing that did not wear it!

Also my daughter is always telling me to "stop putting things on it or you'll ruin it" so I have not gone overboard with the flowers and embellies on this one!

Copics Markers Used
Skin -  E000, E51, E11, R20
Clothes & Shoes- RV21, RV23, RV25, RV29
Apron -  BG15, BG11, BG01, YR07, YG06, Y06
  Hair and Eyes - E21, E23, E25, E29,

Flora's Sitting Pretty

>> Saturday, May 4, 2013

Hi, Deneen here!  It's hard to believe we are already into May.  The Mad 4 Markers Challenge this month is One for the Girls, anything for a female will fit the bill.

Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"
I used the digital image called Flora found at Funky Kits.  She's so pretty, even before colouring her up, and the great thing is that the shading is already on the image to help you along in your colouring.  I try to keep my cards a little more simple so that it doesn't overpower the image that I took the time to colour.

Copics Used:
Skin - E000, E00, YR00, R12
Hair - YR30, YR31, Y32, YR24
Eyes - B14
Dress - V22, V28
Flower Greenery - YG45 (& Fuchsia Flower Soft)
Ground - W0, W1, W3
Sky - BG0000

Recipe:  Sugar Nellie Simply Adorable Digital Image-Flora, CTMH CS-White Daisy, Bazzill CS-dark purple, light purple, cream & green, Heartfelt Creations Die-Decorative Blossom Corner, Spellbinders-Petite Ovals Lg., Flower Soft-Fuchsia, Martha Stewart Frond & Branch Punch, White Netting, Foam Squares, Pearls, Prima Interlude A Roses, Recollections Roses, Copics.

You have the month of May to join us for the One for the Girls Challenge. There is a prize for the winner in May as well as the opportunity to be our guest DT in July.

May Challenge - One for the Girls
Because Mother's Day is this month we want to see something that you've created for a female.
Just a few rules to remember:
1. Please use copics somewhere on your creation and list the ones you have used.
2. Your creation must be something new (not previously blogged about).
3. Your creation needs to be created for a girl.
4. If you could link back to this blog that would be fantastic too.
There is a prize for the winner in May as well as the opportunity to be our guest DT in July.
Jane McNally

has kindly donated a PINK SMASH book.
If you haven't seen Jane's store I suggest you head on over and take a look for yourself (just click on the logo above).  She stocks copics, smashbooks and a lot of other great stuff.
We can't wait to see what you create.
