Easter at M4M

Having missed my DT post last fortnight due to school camp, I determined that I had to get something done for this month's challenge at Mad for Markers Challenge. With next Friday being Good Friday, I decided to base my cards on the life that Jesus provides us through his loving sacrifice for us.

These mini cards use Maya Road Clear Stamps 'Defined' sentiments,  Memento Rich Cocoa ink and my trusty Copics (E42, E47, G43, G46, B000). Having looked through my craft supplies I realised I hadn't used the sentiment set much or my brown ink pad so simplicity was the verdict for this post.

Hoodwinked....

Whoops, today has almost gone and I still haven't blogged my DT card for the Mad for Markers Challenge. As the month of February continues so does the Movie Inspired challenge and this time I've been inspired by a movie inspired by a children's story... 

Yes, I've been inspired by Hoodwinked!

And of course I used my trusty Copic Markers for this card, including lots of greens for the background! Here's the list of them all:

Inspired by a movie - Robin Hood

This month at Mad for Markers we're hoping you'll get inspired by movies. One of my favourite movies when I was younger was the Disney version of Robin Hood. I just couldn't get enough of all those animals.

So when I looked through all the stamps and images I had, I found myself drawn to the following image, can you tell why?

Hope you have fun with your red carpet glam or movie inspired creations.  I coloured this Robin Hood Edwin with Copics (of course) and listed the colours in the top corners, but I don't expect you to have to read my tiny scrawl... For skin: E000, E01. Hair and pants: E33, E35, E37. Shoes and belt: E25, E29. Hat and shirt: G43, G46. Feathers: Y02, Y06, Y08. Bow and arrows: E57.

Unfortunately, internet issues meant I didn't get to post this last Friday but better late than never, right!?!

Australia Day tomorrow - yay!

Well, tomorrow is Australia Day and my diary is all ready for it...

Yes, I still keep a paper diary. I also have an electronic one but sometimes I just find it easier to see the year progressing and the days flying by when the pages keep turning...

Anyway, for my Australia Day page I used this LaLaLand stamp of Luka with a boomerang and coloured him in with my trusty Copics (E50/E51/E53, E71/E77/E79, E18/E42/E47, YG91/YG95, R81/RV95, Y28/Y32, G43/G46).

Aussie's Abroad

Well I thought it was about time I posted something in 2013. I've been enjoying a little break from creating by reading over the past couple of years and thinking about all the different craft projects I've completed or at least started in that time. I've also been considering all the different things I'll like to get done this year so I hope you enjoy them as much as I will...

This week I did manage to do a little colouring and pulled out my trusty Copics in my new favourite shades to colour up an image for the Mad for Markers Challenge this month. The theme is Australian for Australia Day on Jan 26th so I thought I'd remember all the Aussies abroad who'll be having a colder Australia Day than me...

Greetings from Penrith Papercraft Festival...

This weekend Mad for Markers is at the Penrith Papercraft Festival (store 37) with lots of colouring inspiration as well as fabulous things to buy. For those who live a little too far away to call in and say hi, here's a little preview of something that's on display.

Multiliners - Touching up...

The challenge this month is to use your Multiliners!

I always keep mine handy when stamping as you never know when a stamp might not imprint well or for when you've forgot to level the surface you're stamping on as happened on this card...

Can you work out which image I had to touch up? 

I can but that's because I don't think I did my best work on this particular one...

Drawing with Multiliners to colour with Copics

It's a Multiliner challenge at Mad for Markers... One of the things I love to do with multiliners is to sketch up an image to colour. This image I actually drew for last Christmas using a 0.3 Black Multiliner and it appeared in the Christmas edition of Copicendium all coloured up...

I love that once I've drawn the image I can start colouring it right away with my copics, although for this image I did scan it in first incase I wanted to colour it in again. 

I also like the fact that I don't have to use black for my drawings. I've moved on from the standard Multiliner to the Multiliner SP as they are refillable and so end up cheaper in the long run. These Multiliner SPs come in a range of funky colours so it all depends on my mood ;-)

Pen Holder - part 2... embellishments with Copics...

Here's my post that should have been up yesterday... Sorry for the delay, I'm still battling the same headache that kept me from the computer yesterday so you'll have to bare with the brevity of this post...

Last fortnight I said I'd show you my completed pen holder for  Mad for Markers' 'Anything But A Card/Layout' challenge. I like things clean and simple so this is what I ended up with...

 The ribbons and flowers are all coloured with BV00.

Pen Holder - part 1... using a Mist-It...

This month at Mad for Markers we're looking for 'Anything But A Card/Layout' so I thought I'd share with you a project I'm working on. I decided that my desk required a little more organisation and that such organisation would be a good excuse for some craft... so what follows is part 1 - stay tuned for the completion next fortnight...

First step (after finding the surface of my desk below all the layers of things on top of it) was to give my new pen holder a background, so I used my Mist-It filled with a mixture of B79 refill and Colourless Blender.

Then I coloured the main image using E50, E51, E33, E35, E37, B02, B05, B24, B29, BV02, BV04, BV13, V12, V15, RV02, RV04, YG09, YG17, G07, G17, YR04, Y08. (*)

(*) I almost took this image back off the holder again because I couldn't find where I'd put my list of colours... hence the lateness of this post (plus the sleep I had this afternoon before finding it)
