Hey Kaylee Journal

This month we at Mad for Markers are running an off the page challenge...so no cards and layouts here.  I must admit I freaked out a little by this challenge myself as I love making the odd card and don't stem away from it much at all.  

Well this week I covered my Journal I use to record my copic colours used of my favourite cards and I am quite pleased with the outcome.  I will now be covering all my journals and my DD has already put a request to make her one!

Some Odd Girl - Balloon Kaylee

Hi Copic Lovers,

Alicia here.  Today I want to share with you a card I made for our current Mad for Markers challenge - Use a New Colour Combination.  The stamp I coloured is one from Sammi's store.  She is a "Some Odd Girl" stamp and her name is "Balloon Kaylee".  Sammi sells her here at the Mad for Markers store for $9.00.  Isn't she a cutie! Perfect for a birthday card.  She comes with a Happy birthday sentiment as well, but my card was a bit too small to fit it on so I had to use one of my own sentiments.

The new Copic Combinations I used were:

Hair: E35, E31, YR20

Reds: R29, R27, R22, R20

Oranges: YR07, YR04, YR23

Peachy Pink (Balloon): R22, R20, R00

The not new combos were:

Skin: E00, E21, E11

Eyes: W-7, W-5, W-3

Outline W1

I made this card for my cousin Jess who turned 21.  I wanted it to be bright and cheery.

I used a Sassafrass paper on the background and the red and white polka-dot was a scrap. 

I added the 21 number stickers in the bottom corner and outlined it all with white gel pen.

January Challenge :: Use a new combination

Good morning Copic Lovers ... Sammi here ... a BIG HAPPY NEW year to you all! I hope that 2012 will bring much joy and happiness and colour to your lives! Before I start the new challenge I would like to say a HUGE thanks to you all for your support the last year... we had a great year of challenges and the last challenge was a great way to finish .. with so many wonderful entries! you all rock!! :D I and the wonderful DT look forward to seeing your Copic creations this year!!

Soooo... on to this challenge... (just a reminder that we have changed to a monthly challenge... which will give you MORE time to enter) Being the NEW year, 1st month etc etc then we would like you to try out a NEW COLOUR COMBINATION (perfect for those new Copics you received over Christmas ... or New colours you might still want to buy ;)

Guest Designer - Gretchen

Hi Copic Lovers,

Alicia here, with a gorgeous card from our talented Guest Designer this fortnight - Gretchen.

Gretchen has put together this 'rocking' card using Some Odd Girl's Rockin' Kody.  What a great stamp! I could think of lots of people in my life who would love a card like this.  I think I will have to add this stamp to my wish list.

New Challenge - Anything Goes

Hi Copic Lovers,

Alicia here, to start us off on a fresh, new, fortnightly challenge:

Anything Goes.

I made this card for my cousin Caitlin who was sitting her HSC this term.

I wanted to let her know we were wishing her well and supporting her through her exams.

I used this cute little Some Odd Girl stamp called "Thinking Mae".

I purchased her through Sammi and you can buy her here.

The sentiment comes with the stamp.  Which I think is a great bargain for just $9.

She is fun and easy to colour.  Her hair is quite a simple style .

These are the Copics I used:

Purples: BV08, V17, V15

Skin: E00, E21, E11

Blacks: 100, C7, C5

Greens: G17, G05, Go2

Outline: C1

The papers were all out of my scrap drawer.  I added a lilac bow and some gems and glitter to finish it all off.
