Red Hair Challenge

>> Tuesday, June 28, 2011

Good morning copic lovers it is Bron here today with my card for the current red hair challenge.

I realised when I sat down to make my card that I really never do red hair so after sitting down for 20 minutes reading every ones suggestions and pouring the net I came up with a combination of two highly recommended combinations. I have used E19, E18, E17, R08 & R02. I have to admit that the hair in real life is no where near as bright as the photo has picked it up. If I had more time to get a better light I would have waited and redone the photo but alas time was not on my side. Having said that though it is still quite a vibrant red!

Copic Colours used:
Hair - E19, E18, E17, R08 & R02
Dress - R85, R83, R81
Boots - B97, B95, B93
Skin - E00, E11, E21, R20, R11

I can not wait to see what you all come up with and hopefully I will pick up some new combinations that I can try.

Have a great day everyone. until next time xoxo

>> Monday, June 27, 2011

Good morning everyone. It is Monday and that means it is time for a new challenge. It is Tracey and I am host for this new challenge. Did we all enjoy the Brown Hair challenge....??? Hope so as this fortnight we have another hair challenge.

Red Hair

There really are a lot of red hair combinations that you could use. I like to try and stick to the natural 'Strawberry blond' colours but I am sure if you are so inclined you could go for more red red colours. The possibilities are limitless. Try YR02, 04, 07 or E95, 97, 99. On this image I used E11, YR14, E08 but if you wanted to make it a bit darker I would have used E39 or E29. Have fun most of all.

Can't wait to see what you create.

Copics used:
Hair: E11, YR14, E08
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11
Jeans/shoes: C5, 7, 9
Top: C7, 9, 5, Gooo, 02, 05, 17

Some Brown Hair Tutorial Links

>> Friday, June 24, 2011

Hey all, Marcia here. It's finally Friday, did this week just zoom by? Sure felt like it here.

I'm still having some grief with my shoulder and have been fighting a chest infection - I haven't picked up a Copic in over a week, which is woeful. So I have nothing of mine to share today.

Next best thing .... here are some tutorials I have found online, which I think are easy to follow and showcase many different ways to colour. The last link is a bonus link, it's the one I like for Copic colour combos for all kinds of hair colours. (just click on the images, you will be taken straight there!)

Enjoy!

>> Tuesday, June 21, 2011

Hi Copic Lovers,

I am excited to share this card with you today.  I made this is as a special order for a friend to give to her boyfriend for his 30th Birthday.  I coloured the man in the image with brown hair and I also gave the dog brown fur as well.  I distressed it all and "roughed it up" as much as I could.  Carl has a green ute in real life and a dog so this Kenny K image was perfect.

This card used a lot of Copics...

Skin: E11, E00
Reds: R29, R59, RV29

Do you know about the awesome prize for this challenge?
A couple of brown Copic Markers to add to your collection.
Why not join in?

Happy Colouring,

Some More Brown Fun

>> Monday, June 20, 2011

Hi Copic Lovers

I hope you are loving the current challenge here on Mad For Markers.

This one is a really easy one so there are no excuses why anyone couldn't join in. Colour Brown Hair. It's that easy. All you have to do is make sure you use your Copic Markers on your creation.

Today I wanted to show you a magnolia image that I have coloured. I have also coloured in a background, I don't colour backgrounds that often so it was a little out of the ordinary for me but I had a lot of fun colouring it.

Once I had finished the card I realised the two images didn't really go with each other that well but that is ok, I don't mind.

Copics Used:

E07, E08, E23, E25, E27, E29, E50, E51, E74, E77, E79.

R0000, R35, R37, R39, R83, R85, R89.

B0000, B00.

W00, W0, W1, W3.

YR20, YR23, YR30, YR31.

BV23, BV25, BV29.

V91, V93, V95, V99.

Make sure you check back each day for some great inspiration from the design team.

Also check out the shop here; http://www.madformarkers.com.au/catalog/

You can get all your brown markers to finish this great challenge and even a couple of stamps to colour in.

Have Fun Colouring

Blue Tag

>> Thursday, June 9, 2011

Hi there Copic fans!!

I'm here today to remind you that there are just a couple of days left to get your submission in to the current Mad For Markers challenge.

The Design Team have been posting daily with fabulous examples of how you can use the sketch and the submissions to date are just fantastic.

I don't make a lot of tags so I was tempted to just make a tag shaped card this week but then I decided to step out of my comfort zone and just go with the straight tag. I'm actually pretty happy with how this turned out in the end.

Image is from Kenny K and papers from Stampin Up!. I have coloured the flower and lace with Copic Marker B21.

The following Copics have been used to colour the image

Skin - E00, E000, E11 and R20
Hair - Y21, Y 23, Y26 and Y28
Clothes and Shoes - E30, E31, E33, E34, E35, E37, B21, B23, B24

My fellow Design Team member,  Melissa, has come up with this fabulous tag sketch this fortnight and it is up to you how you use it, you might want to make a tag, incorporate the tag on to a card or maybe make a tag shaped card, it's up to you.

As I said, there are only a few days left of this challenge but time enough for you to get your entry in.

For all your Copic and related supplies head on over to Mad For Markers online store.
Mad For Markers post to Australia and New Zealand and stock a large range of Copic Markers, Blending Card, Masking Paper etc.

Tag Sketch made into a 30th B'dayCard

>> Tuesday, June 7, 2011

Hi Copic Lovers,

Here is a very original 30th Birthday Card.
I made it following our sketch for the tag, but turned it into a card.
This was a special order for a friend.
She wanted a black and white 30th B'day card with a hint of red and a green tree frog.
I think I went a little overboard on the "hint of red".  Never mind.
I rolled my own paper flowers and added pearl centres.
I paper pieced the present and added a real red ribbon.
I stuck on some eyes.
It certainly is a different card...I hope my friend likes it and I hope the girl receiving the card likes it too!

I coloured with the following Copic markers:

Reds: R59, R27
Greens: G05, G14, YG03, YG06
Black 100, C-7 and C-1

Have you been checking out this site every day for some inspiration?
The DT have done an amazing job on this tag sketch.
The entries for our challenge are amazing too!
Why not have a try at the sketch this week.

Happy Colouring : )

Tag It!!!!!!

>> Monday, June 6, 2011

Hello Copic Lovers

I hope everyone is loving the challenge this fortnight. It is always nice to do something a little different. I am loving this tag sketch by Melissa. It is so easy to follow but can turn into so many different things.

If you forgot what the sketch looks like here it is;

I once again decided to make a card from the sketch. It still looks like a tag and opens like a tag but is a card. I thought it is never too early to start those Christmas cards so I did a cute little one.

The colours don't look too great in the photo but they are so much nicer in real life. Thanks to Becci for the great image.

Copic used;

G82, G85, G94, G99.

R35, R37, R39.

Y28.

YR30. YR31.

W3, W5, W7.

Make sure you keep checking back each day for some great inspiration. You still have a few days to get your creations in.

You can also check the normal blog for some great inspiration as well; http://www.madformarkers.blogspot.com/

You should also check out the store while you are over that way, Sammi has some new stamps in stock and there are also still places available for the Colour Conference she is having in October near the Sydney Airport. Here are the details; http://www.madformarkers.com.au/catalog/

I wish I could go...... Maybe next time.

Thanks for Stopping Bye

If you haven't yet, don't forget to join in our challenge!  We'd love to see your take on the sketch!
