A Little Late but I'm Here

>> Monday, August 29, 2011

Hi Copic lovers.....

I am so sorry for the late post today, I have had my little boy at the hospital this morning so have been running a bit behind with things.

I wanted to share with you a card I have made for the current challenge here at Mad For Markers which is to create a scene with your images and copic markers. I love the idea of this challenge and the possibilities it opens for everyone.

I started my card design by creating my image which in fact is 6 individual digital images which I have merged together to make 1 complete image.

I then came across this card design while I was blog surfing and just fell in love with it so I thought I would give it a go. It was so simple to make but so effective.

I wanted to make the card a bit girly as I am going to give it to my bestie for her birthday next week.

Copics Used;

YR12, 16.

E23, 25, 27, 29, 50, 51.

B0000, 00.

R81, 83, 85, 89.

G99.

BV11, 13, 17.

N0,1,2,3,4,5,7.

R24, 27, 29.

There are still a couple of days left for this challenge and it is so easy to create your own scene so why not give it a go!

Thanks for having a look

A Magnolia Scene

>> Saturday, August 27, 2011

Hi Copic Lovers,

Wow! The entries for Ashlee's "Create a Scene" challenge are looking amazing and so are the inspiration from the DT!  I picked a Magnolia image for my card and I have always wanted to try a cloud background.  I visited youtube and came across this great video by Annika Ryan which I watched and tried to emulate.  I didnt have the same colours as her so I used what I had.
Then I watched a tutorial by Melyssa Connolly on how to colour grass and gave that a go too.  I have included links to the videos in case you want to check them out yourself.

The Copics I have used on my card are:

Reds: R53, R46, R59
Yellows: Y15, Y17, Y38, Y02
Hair: E35, E57, E37, E31
Skin: E11, E51, E02, R20
Sky: B93, B32. BG000, C-0, C-1
Grass: YG67, G99, GY63, YG03
Warm Greys: W-1, W-3, W-5, W-7

Since the image is so large, and the focus,  I kept the rest of the card fairly simple.

I hope you can find a little bit of time to join in our challenge!
The winner will have a GD spot here at Mad for Markers.
You have a week left to enter.

Happy Colouring,

Alicia xx

Last days for Spica challenge...

>> Friday, August 19, 2011

Welcome to my first post as a part of the M4M DT :-)

The challenge this fortnight is to use Spica pens on your creation. Spica pens are really useful for adding subtle highlights to your colouring or more intense shine if layered. Even if you miss this challenge I'd recommend adding some to your next order from M4M :-)

On my card I used Turquoise for the grass and eyes, but then did the more intense layering of Clear for the nose and ball. Sorry about the blurriness, I tried to take the photo on an angle to show the Spica glitter more...

Image from Sliekje.blogspot.com
Copics: B00, G07, G14, G17, E31, E33, E35, R27, YR07
Spica: Clear and Turquoise
All Spica and Copics are available from Mad4Markers online store

If you need more inspiration, some older posts of mine that include Spica pens are Polkadots and Bows, Shiny Spesch Fun and the raindrops, flowers and bird on 4U.

Sparkle In Different Places

>> Monday, August 15, 2011

Hello Copic Lovers,

Mel B here with you to share a card I have made for the current challenge here at Mad For Markers. The challenge is to use your Spica Pens on your creations. It doesn't matter if you have 10 pens or only 1 spica pen, we would like to just see a bit of "sparkle".

My stamped image today is a bit of an unlikely image to use sparkle on but I wanted to show you that your image doesn't have to be a "pretty" or a "sparkly" image to be able to add a little bit of shine to it.

I love this stamp that I have had for a while. I haven't really known what to do with it and so I thought I would jump out of the comfort zone and give it a go.

I have added some sparkle to my grapes and to the flowers at the bottom of the card. Once again it is sooooo hard to photograph spica pens but I hope you get the general idea.

The design team are coming up with some fantastic creations to show everyone.

You still have plenty of time to get your own creations linked to this challenge blog. If you are a bit light on with your spica pens then why not check out the Mad For Markers store here; http://www.madformarkers.com.au/catalog/

Copics Used;

G82, G85, G94, G99.

R89.

W2, W4, W6, W9.

Red Spica, Clear Spica.

Thanks For dropping Bye
