Hello Monday

Hello Copic Lovers

Yep... It's Monday again and that means I am here to share another creation with you.

This fortnight we are looking for creations where you have used your Colourless Blender. Using this pen can give you some great effects on your coloured images.

My image today is a cute little butterfly from Unity Stamps. I wanted to give the wings a bit of a see through effect while still having the colour on them. This is really easy to achieve by colouring as you normally would then going over the centre of your coloured image with your colourless blender. This moves the colour to the outside and gives it that see through look.

I have also coloured the piece of paper in the background and using a stamp which i coloured with my colourless blender I stamped the image all over the paper. This is really easy to do but you have to be very quick as the colourless blender will dry very quickly.

Copics Used;

YG97.

BV23, 25, 29.

Colourless Blender.

Make sure you check out all the great entries in this challenge. We would love to see what you can create with your colourless blender.

Thanks for dropping bye.

Colourless Blender on Chipboard

>> Saturday, September 24, 2011

Hi Copic Lovers,

Alicia here.  I am sharing a card I made with some chipboard corners on it.
I dont often use my Colourless Blender, but I do like to use it when I colour chip board.
I coloured the chipboard in with RV29 and then went over some bits with the Colourless Blender.  It gives the colour more depth or interest I think.  This chipboard was very fine and dainty so I just used the Colourless Blender on the thicker parts.

This is a very easy and simple way to use the Colourless Blender.
Why not have a go and link up your card to our challenge this fortnight?
You still have a week to get in your entry.

Here is the completed card.  It is an engagement card for my brother-in-law and his girlfriend to give to their very close friends. They wanted to have a photo on the card to personalise it.
Their engagement party is tonight.

Thanks for stopping by to have a look.
I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Colourless Blender

Hi Everyone,

This fortnights challenge is ..........
to use your Colourless Blender.

I must say that I do use the colourless blender '0' alot, either to colour, erase mistakes or use with the 'sprays' that I make.

In this example, I have used the colourless blender with another colour marker to colour the wings. I like to use this technique (tip to tip) for wings & petals of flowers etc.

The Coloured wing (before glitter is added):

Good Morning All !!

Welcome to this fortnight's challenge .... to use your Colourless Blender.  This was a lot of fun, and I made heaps of patterns before I came up with one I was happy with lol.  I've coloured the paper first with R81, and then made the flower pattern with my colourless blender.  I made the circle with the tip of the marker, then made the petals by starting with the tip and pushing down and using the edge of the nib (I hope this makes sense lol).

This close up shows the pattern a little clearer.

The paper I've used is My Mind's Eye "Vanity Fair".  I love the MME papers !!!  The large pink flower is from Prima.

I can't wait to see what creations you all come up with for this fortnight's challenge.

Take care,
Hugs
Honor x

some examples using the blender

>> Tuesday, September 20, 2011

Good morning!! Sammi here ... filling in for Bron! I have a few examples to show you of images I have coloured and used the blender to create some special effects... pretty simple ones to show you today!! Yes, that's right the current challenge is ...

Colourless Blender - use your 0 marker to create an effect or pattern

so here they are...
#1 - Eric (from the Marker Mob) will be available this month as a digi from Mad for Markers
I have used the blender on his pants (over the greys) to give them the "faded look"

#2 This gorgeous little Fairwee from Sweet November.. in the Mason Jar .. also from Sweet November .. I have used the blender on the glass jar ... a bit of colour first and then the blender was used to push the colour out so that it was more diffused and just gives the hint of glass.

#3 - On this sweet little Fairy Tinker from Tiddley Inks I have used the blender on the background... I have done lots of dots first in different BG colours and then dabbed more dots on top with the blender pen!

#4 - and last of all is Anya Twirl (from The Greeting Farm) I have added the effect of dots to the twirl and to her top... I did this just by holding the tip of the blender down in the paper for a few seconds and then taking the pen away it leaves the nice circle.. sometimes this needs repeating a couple of times to get a nice clear dot!! :D

Am really looking forward to seeing your creations using the blender pen or blender solution to create an effect/ pattern .. you can purchase the solution in the normal various ink/ refill bottle OR in a larger bottle! :D

New Challenge - Colourless Blender

>> Monday, September 19, 2011

Hi Copic fans

Gin here with your next challenge:

Colourless Blender - use your 0 marker to create an effect or pattern

Now before that sends you into a panic,
here's an example of just how simple experimenting with your blender can be...
Using the materials below (plus my scissors and a texture plate), I was able to create the following card:

I was going for an oriental layered effect with this piece of blending card.
First I coloured the whole area using B99 (a dark colour works best).
(*) Then I coloured my stamp with 0 (I only used the top half of the stamp).#
Before the ink dried on the stamp (it happens really quick) I stamped it onto the card.
I held the stamp there for a while to ensure transfer of 0 to the page.
Repeat from (*) as desired.
# Spritzing with 0 refill is another option to 'colour' the stamp.
Then I used a texture plate on the blending card before attaching it to the rest of my card :-)

I look forward to seeing your creations this fortnight :-)

If your Colourless Blender is getting low,
now is the time to visit the Mad for Markers store
Don't put it off, we want to see your creations :-)

Cheers,
Gin.

Spring Inspiration - Clean and Simple

>> Sunday, September 11, 2011

Hi Copic Lovers,

This is my very late post that should have gone up yesterday.
But I was feeling unwell and so it is only getting up today!
For our Spring-time challenge I have made a set of three identical clean and simple cards.
I went for a very spring-time image with a flower and a cute little chickie.  It is a Designed to Delight image I think I won awhile back now.

I went for a clean and simple design for a change, because sometimes I get sick of it taking me two hours to make a single card.  And sometimes I just feel like colouring in and not spending most of my time fussing with layers of paper and embellishments.  So I can say that I really had fun making these little cards.  I am sure they will come in handy in my stash.

The Copics I used are:

Pinks: RV06, RV04, RV02
Yellows:YR23, Y15, Y02
Greens: YG23, YG03, YG11

Not long now until the Copic Conference.  I can't wait!! Head over here to check out all the details if you are like me and just cant bear to miss out!!  I cant wait to colour all weekend with no interruptions (except chattering) and learn new skills.

You still have a week to enter our Spring Challenge...so get your cards in!

I hope you had a lovely weekend.

Alicia xx
