Using masculine colours with girly images.

>> Thursday, May 31, 2012

good morning everyone! I have been a bit slack this week...i usually have my post all ready a few days before but today i am posting today at 9:15am!!! It has been a busy few weeks and i have been getting behind with everything!
Right, now my head is screwed on the right way i can share with you all out there in blogland.
Masculine colours. This was a hard one for me as i do not really have many boyish images. I have 2 girls and my hubby has 4 sisters so there is not really much need for them in my house. so i went through my collection and found a Greeting farm image called Thursday and thought she would be perfect to colour.
Here are the colours i used.

I managed to get a bunch of greens and browns which together are quite boyish and make a great "camo"look.
then i coloured thursday in.

Once she was coloured i wanted to make a general card with her but still keep the masculine colours.
so i grabbed some my minds eye papers from the out of the blue collection and created this card.

I also used a fence die from my favorite things, and the sentiment is a sticker i got from EAD designs.

All the copics can be purchased from Mad for Markers and the greeting farm image can also be available from there too.

I just love that image it reminds me of my daughter Zoe, she is a real tomboy!

On another note i would love to share with you a funny story about my daughter, i have written a blog post about it on my blog a day in the life of osiris and loki ...it involves scissors and hair! and i am sure that you ALL out there can totally relates to this tale.!
Well i hope you enjoyed my card today, and do not forget to join us and enter the challenge. you can find it on the right sidebar.
I cannot wait to see what you create!

Tara:)

One For The Boys

Hello to all our Copic followers.

Firstly I would like to start off my post with announcing that I will be stepping down from my position on the Mad For Markers Design Team. It is with great sadness that I have to do this however with greater work commitments I am slowly running out of time to meet deadlines and I believe this is unfair to all involved. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on the Design Team and would like to thank all the followers who have left lovely comments about my creations. It is so nice to see so many people following the inspiration we bring to you weekly. I wish the current Design Team all the best for the future and I will definitely be popping in from time to time and hopefully will find a little "me" time to complete a challenge here and there.

Now onto my Inspiration.
This week is the start of our new monthly challenge. This month it is all about the Men and Boys. We would like to see you use Masculine colours on your creations. Remember it doesn't have to be a card, it can be anything you like.

This week I have had the pleasure of colouring the very cute Boots. He was so nice to colour, all be it a little hard with all his wrinkles!!!!

Copics Used:
E70, 71, 74, 77, 79.
R81 (Just a little for his nose and ears)

Check out the Blog daily for lots of inspiration from the Design Team.

We also have a couple of great colouring events on our calender. Check out the Shop for all the details.

2nd June - Colour Day in Werribee, Melbourne
16th June - Project Class with Irina Blount from LaLa Land Crafts
21-23 September - Annual M4M Copic Colour Conference

April but not showers!

>> Thursday, May 3, 2012

Hello there everyone!
Today i am going to share with you a card i created for ...well not really this challenge but as we are now in may we have a kind of free week..plus i have run out of wet images to colour!

I have used for this card a some odd girl digital image but if you go to Mad for markers they have a MASSIVE range of Some odd girl stamps to purchase.

I just love this image! plus to top it off and get a great background i used my new fiskars interchangeable border punch. it is meant for ribbon but i thought it made a great lattice background. you can check out how to do this here.
And here are the copics i used!

The challenge is almost finished now so if you do not get a chance to enter ,never fear next week we will have a new challenge for may!

happy colouring
Tara:)
